Ralph Klein on Monday

Another week done in room 140. We have been busy with our Coppercade projects and they are starting to take shape (Many learning the importance of clear planning). We are also working on our communication skills by presenting our mavericks research to the class as well as working on our debate topic finding pros and cons to persuade peers to agree with personal viewpoints on specific topics. Math has been trickier lately as we are concluding our division exploration and are beginning to study fractions and decimals. The increased warmth and sunlight outside has also allowed us to further discuss the plants and growth unit in science.

This weekend we are unfortunately expecting snow. Due to this it is important that students are well prepared for Monday with water bottles, packed (trash-less) lunches and warmer clothes, as we will be spending some time outdoors. We still need volunteers to help out on Monday so please let me know if you are free and able to come.

With our BMO project we are hoping to make money for the pawsitive match charity and have been able to get some representatives to come in to inspire us to work hard in our Coppercade and Coppershop endeavors.

Dear Copperfield School families                           Grade four students at Copperfield School have been involved with The Learning Partnership’s Entrepreneurial Adventure with BMO.  As part of their adventure, they have created a business, Coppercares and an event called Coppercade. Students have decided that proceeds from their business will be going to support Pawsitive Match. Pawsitive Match is a local charity that rescues dogs and cats from life threatening circumstances. On Wednesday, May 1st, two representatives from Pawsitive Match will be coming to speak with the grade 4 students about their charity.  They will also be bringing one of their rescue dogs.If your child has an allergy to dogs, please contact your child’s teacher as soon as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s teacher. Thank youGrade Four Team at Copperfield School
