Hi Parents & Student, First of all well done everyone! We had a full class for photos today. They all looked great too. Thank you to everyone that came in for conferences it as great to meet you all. If you couldn't make it to conferences and wanted a chance to meet or have a phone call send me an email and we can arrange it. On Thursday we have our Twoonie for Terry day (Feel free to send any donations with your child to put in the bucket). It will include an assembly at 9am that parents are welcome to join as well as our Terry Fox run around the pond that parents are also welcome to join. The theme of the day is heroes. Next Monday Oct 1st is orange shirt day (If possible wear some orange). We will be honoring, truth and recognition of Canada's indigenous (first) peoples. This will involve an assembly with a special guest in the morning.  If you haven't already please remember to fill out and send in consent forms (CBE and Third party) for photos. S

New grade 4 Entry starting Monday

Hi Parents and students, As you are all aware we have fencing positioned around our school and will unfortunately be getting even more fencing after the city decided to begin work on the soccer field. This means that we will not have access to the field while they are working. Due to this and the current congestion on the compound the grade fours have been asked to relocate their entry to door C which is beside the staff carpark. Starting Monday morning we will be entering through door C. The hope is that the fences closet to the school will disappear ASAP and we can return to the door we have been using so far. This is an inconvenience for us all I assure you but we don't have much say in the matter so we appreciate your cooperation and understanding. On Monday Sept 17th All grade 4 classes will be entering through door C (Next to the staff carpark)

Lunchroom monitor

Now that the students are the eldest in the school they are seen as our leaders and are looked up to by their younger peers. Due to this they are offered many opportunities to develop their leadership skills and help demonstrate and set the expectations and the culture here at our school. Similar to last year the students have been offered the chance to be a lunchroom monitor, many students took this opportunity last year and are better for that experience. To become a lunchroom monitor this year students are required to fill in this form and return it to Mrs. Lowden as quickly as possible to ensure they get a spot. (The form is in the resource section of the link)

Hello parents and classmates

We did it!!! We are here and back to learning in Grade 4. We had a great first week and have worked to get comfortable in our class and with each other. There is a positive vibe in our room and I expect great things will happen throughout this year. We are currently learning how to become more positive and have a growth mindset to learn and develop effectively. We have looked at the power of gratitude, our responsibilities in & around our class and will be looking deeper into this years over arching question: What does it mean to be a great leader? We have been revising our understanding of who we are and where we come from in both Math (Math about me) Art (Outside me) and looking at Canadian provinces with a closer focus on Alberta still to come. I am grateful for our new class and look forward to seeing all the growth that will occur this year. If you are willing and able to help out in the classroom or for field trips please let me know and ensure you're security clear
