Readathon

Good evening parents and students. Next week kicks off our March read-a-thon where we will be increasing the amount of reading happening in our class/school. We will kick the week off by finishing Wonder and will be able to choose our next read aloud.  We will hopefully get some special guests into read and be able to share our own favorite books. A form was sent home that allows the students to participate in the fund raising part of the read-a-thon. Prizes will be given out to the top earners including prizes that will allow students the opportunity to run the school for the day as a principal, or to be me for the day and run our class. There are also other prizes for participants that will be detail on the forms sent home. If any parents/grandparents (clearance required) feel like coming in to share their favorite childhood book let me know a time and date and I'll pencil you in! We will also have a favorite character dress up day. (date will be sent out via messenger)

Simple machines

What Is A Lever? A  lever  is a simple  machine  consisting of a bar that rotates around a fixed point. The fixed point of a lever is called the fulcrum. Like other machines, a lever makes work easier by changing the force applied to the machine or the  distance  over which the force is applied. Classes of Levers Other levers change force or  distance  in different ways than a hammer removing a nail. How a lever changes force or distance depends on the  location  of the input and output forces relative to the fulcrum. The input force is the force applied by the user to the lever. The output force is the force applied by the lever to the object. Based on the location of input and output forces, there are three basic types of levers, called first-class, second-class, and third-class levers.  Classes of Levers Class of Lever Example of Lever in This Class Location of Input & Output Forces & Fulcrum* Ideal Mechanical ...
